Hi folks, I'm a video archivist/sound recordist of acoustic musicians and poets, and as i've just started putting together a replacement for my old MSN website I thought some of you might enjoy a visit.....over the years i've videoed numerous acoustic musicians and poets of all sorts,Including some excellent singer songwriters....i am also a performer of classic and original English poetry.....Its early days i only restarted the site last weekend, but you'll find wav files in all the categories.... At present most are in the poetry sounds section, but theres plenty more to come......So why not come and pay the "Acoustic musicians and poets sound archive"MSN website a visit....heres the address... http://groups.msn.com/acousticmusiciansandpoetssoundarchive Regards.. This sight is a Phenomenal find, in the barren wasteland of looking for detailed information on blues and soul music on the internet. Today when soul or rhythm and blues are reffered to it is almost always to the attractive, overproudced, hip hop pop recordings that are pawned off on young people as authentic rnb. Being a young person myself, I just wish there were a few more creative talents existing in popular culture for young people to grow up listening to, besides the simplistic sex and money messages of performers today. Our generation does have it's serious urban perfomers in the form of concientious hip hop artists, but it would be nice to hear someone with the talent of Sam Cooke telling us that a change is gonna come. That leads me to my reason for this post, which is that on this website Sam Cooke's the man and his music is listed as his best album, while two other albums "rhythm and blues", and especially "night beat" far exceed that compilation album. Sam Cooke's night beat answers all the critics who state that he is overproduced. With only the bareset of intrumental accompaniment, Sam Cooke's vocal's are superb. I would recomend to any soul music lover, or music lover in general to pick it up... or if your cheap download some of the songs

The First Coast Entertainer in Jacksonville FL writer Rick Grant writes: "E.G. Kight could be the Twenty-First Century's blues messiah that crosses blues over to the popular charts--a feat accomplished by Bonnie Raitt in the early nineties.""On Trouble, Kight brings a refreshing urban sophistication to the blues, like she stepped into a time warp from the forties and it is interpreting the blues in an uptown-- almost dixieland style on some of the songs." "Kight is like a cross between Patsy Cline and Koko Taylor " Check out this woman and hear what you have been missing. www.egkight.com

Great site. Hi to anyone who remembers me from my BLUEPRINT MAGAZINE "Northern Accent" column days. Many of you may not know that my husband -UK harmonica player PETE MITCHELL-SMITH died four years ago. Thankfully I`m now back on the music scene and again managing a Blues Band- "Dr Blue`s Old Grey Bristle Test" Often guesting on harmonica (and generating a lot of interest) is Pete`s son Ryan. More details on our website: www.dr-blue.co.uk. I`d love to hear from any old friends who lost touch. Take care-Linda Mitchell-Smith
